Our home is located on Claytor Lake. The owners and their Yorkie live in the house. Guests who are allergic to dogs or do not want to interact with a dog should not book. Large windows on the front and an open floor plan offer views of the lake, mountains and sky from most areas in the home. Inside we offer one private bedroom with king bed and an attached private bathroom. The bedroom is located in the main house. A continental breakfast is served. The traditional furnishings are geared toward comfort and lake living. Guest can lounge on the sofa in built in recliners, or sit in rockers with lake views, play games at the game table, nap or read in the loft and enjoy eating at the large dining room table or kitchen bar. Guests can expect to interact with the owners. Outside the living is geared to a love of the outdoors. Sit in Adirondack chairs on the covered porch. Catch some rays on the upper deck in a lounge chair. Swim off the dock or ride the paddle boat and kayak. Enjoy sitting in a swing at waters edge and view the sun set with wine and cheese. We now live in a home on an adjoining property, so we are close by. The property is at the end of a private drive that is well maintained and is very secluded but sits directly on the lake. We currently have two bedrooms ready to rent with a sleeping loft over the living room. It can sleep 6 people. There are three full bath rooms and a 1/2 bath in the laundry room. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and there is an outside grill for cook-outs. The living room dining room and kitchen are an open floor plan along with the upstairs loft. All living spaces have a wonderful view of the lake. There is a wrap around porch that over looks the lake, drive, and the woods around the house. There is also a gazebo with a swing. The top of the boat house and the floating dock come with the rental. There is a cement drive with a basketball backstop and a horse shoe pit. A handmade one of a kind spiral staircase leads to a sleeping loft which has a full size futon and full bathroom. There is a full size pull-out sofa in the downstairs living area. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with a private bathroom. There is also, a playpen for your convenience.

The kitchen comes stocked with many different cooking appliances, stand mixer, etc. We just added an extra large log dining room table to accommodate everyone in the kitchen at one time! All rooms throughout the cottage have a fantastic view of Claytor Lake, there is also a vast stone patio with multiple levels and views, including a fire pit area (wood provided). Bathrooms include luxury towel warmers, granite countertops and a Jacuzzi tub in the Master Bathroom. A gathering room downstairs includes a pool table, air hockey table, Foosball table, dartboard, bar area (including SubZero refrigerator, freezer drawers, professional capacity icemaker, deluxe wine refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave), kitchen table, and fireplace with plenty of room for large groups. There is also a large laundry room with 2 sets of washers and dryers. Outside, there is a large stainless steel Viking outdoor gas grill with rotisserie attachment, perfect for barbecues and big gatherings (propane provided). We also have plenty of inner tubes for floating, horseshoes, outdoor park grill down by the lake (please bring charcoal if interested), paddle board, and 4 brand new 10 ft. kayaks for the guests, tons of fun things to do for the kids and family! Surrounded by many acres of forestland and natural beauty, privacy is not an issue. You will likely see bald eagles soaring over the lake as they frequently choose trees on the property to nest in every year! Yet, you are still just a short drive away from the picturesque and historic town of Pulaski, Virginia, as well as close to many other hubs of activity like Radford, Christiansburg, Blacksburg, and Roanoke. A Virginia Tech football game is less than an hour's drive away! We built our custom log home in 2007. It has a front porch facing the new river tressel trail. A 54 mile walking, hiking, biking, and horse back riding trail that meanders along the New River. The back porch faces the New River just as it enters Claytor Lake. We have a private boat launch and dock. Turn left from our boat launch go 1/2 mile to the shoals in the New River, or go right 22 miles and you will go over the dam if you don't stop. Fish or ski in the back yard. Bring your jet skis, ski boats, floats and fishing boats. Fantastic fishing!!! Drive about 10 miles and put your canoes in at the Blue Cat and float back to our house. Sights you will not forget. The house has one bedroom on the first floor with a private bath. There is a nice living room and kitchen with granite counter tops and an island. You can dine in or on the back porch with a beautiful view of the water. There is a 1/2 bath laundry combo on the first floor. The upstairs loft has a Harley black and orange pool table with some cool neon lighting. Bedroom 2 is on the second floor with a large bath.
